Cruise diary: During the second MAREANO cruise of 2025, we venture into the abyss of the deep sea along the Arctic Mid-Oceanic Ridge in the Norwegian sea, reaching depths of up to 3400 metres (Figure 1).

Cruise diary: The MAREANO programme has embarked on a journey to the Arctic Mid-Ocean Ridge in the North Atlantic this October to document and sample the seabed, aiming to contribute to knowledge-based and sustainable management of the area.

Large Candelabrum hydroids on the Mohn Ridge

Cruise diary: On this cruise, numerous observations were made of large individuals of hydroids belonging to the genus Candelabrum on the Mohn Ridge.
