International MAREANO-workshop

International workshop on methods and technology for seabed mapping – Trondheim 17th-18th October 2012.

International workshop on methods and technology for seabed mapping – Trondheim 17th-18th October 2012.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) equipped with high resolution sensors are one of the emerging technologies for seabed mapping which will be discussed at the MAREANO workshop.

MAREANO is Norway’s major seabed mapping programme, and one of the largest in the world. Since its initiation in 2005 MAREANO has employed modern methods and technologies toward seabed mapping, but is continuously looking for improvements that could optimize future mapping efforts. Exchange of knowledge with the international scientific community is central to the future development of seabed mapping for MAREANO and similar programmes worldwide.  This workshop will provide a forum for presentation and discussion of current and emerging seabed mapping methods and technology. We invite interested scientists to participate.
